Link dump of cool things, some of which made by me, some of which not. Formerly a replacement of Projects and Promo, merging the two ideas into one, but I moved my own stuff to the about page
Web design like it's '99
Neocities - Free (to a point of course) static web host with a social element
Nekoweb - Like Neocities but with more cats! Also this mf (named Neko) chases your cursor around:
88x31.nl - a whole bunch of 88x31 buttons, complete with a directory to more websites with a whole bunch of 88x31 buttons.
eightyeightthirty.one - A map of the entirety of 88x31s basically ever I think. This was a goldmine for finding the 88x31s that I couldn't find on any 88x31 collections (like the soundcloud and itch.io buttons on the sidebar). Use this if you want to discover new, potentially undiscovered buttons to throw into your own collection.
consumerrights.wiki - Consumer rights wiki. Created by Louis Rossman and others, this is meant to document harm done to consumers by corporations.
Raven Technologies Group - Raven, creators of Talon and the Alternet project, focused on fixing the internet's privacy, security, etc. issues.
Fun websites mess around on
wplace - A website where people paint pixel art over a massive canvas that is also a map of the world.
Creative tools
sdaw - A browser-based live daw that I stumbled across and had a lot of fun messing with. It's like a DJ simulator. Here's a little demo; an acid big beat track with industrial elements that I made after discovering the sites "record" feature:
If the site hasn't updated beyond support of it, you can download my .sdaw file and use the "load" feature in the top-right corner to view and edit the song under the hood!
